ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) has resolved a long-running inheritance dispute involving property worth Rs100 million in Islamabad’s I-8 sector, ordering that Huma Batool be granted her lawful share.

Batool had filed a complaint seeking her portion of her late father’s property, naming her two brothers and mother as opposing parties. As a first step, Ombudsman directed the Capital Development Authority to formally transfer the property allotment to the legal heirs.

Following the complaint, a reconciliation process began. The key disagreement centred on determining the property’s value. To ensure fairness and transparency, FOSPAH appointed a local commission, who assessed the market price at Rs100 million.

All parties accepted the valuation and submitted a joint statement, allowing the matter to be resolved amicably. Under the final settlement, Huma Batool received Rs17.5 million as her legal entitlement, which has now been fully paid.

After receiving the amount, Batool also submitted a statement in favour of her brother Asim Maqbool, concluding the case entirely.

A spokesperson stated that the decision not only safeguarded the complainant’s inheritance rights but also helped the family resolve a sensitive dispute peacefully.
