LAHORE (Dunya News) - After the Orange Line train and electric buses, the provincial capital will now see electric trams on its roads.

The first electric tram has arrived in the capital from China and will initially operate on Canal Road.

According to sources from the Punjab government, following the Metro Bus, Orange Line train, and electric buses, trams will now be seen zipping through the streets of Lahore.

The tram, imported from China, consists of three boxes and is fully powered by electricity.

With just 10 minutes of charging, the electric tram can travel 25 to 27 kilometers and has the capacity to accommodate 250 passengers.

The assembly of the three-box tram is being carried out at the Ali Town Depot. The tram will be operated as a pilot project in the first phase.
