LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab has made history by becoming the first province in Pakistan to establish specialised forces under the 18th Constitutional Amendment, marking a significant step in provincial security and administrative innovation.
The 2018 amendment empowered provinces to form their own specialised forces. Today CM Maryam Nawaz formally launched the Punjab Counter-Narcotics Force and attended its inaugural passing-out parade. The ceremony featured a guard of honour, an oath-taking by the officers, and a formal flag handover. The chief minister also interacted with CNF personnel and reviewed the fleet of vehicles and digital surveillance equipment.
