IHC orders Ministry of Interior to remove Shibli Faraz's name from ECL

Home secretary summoned in personal capacity if the court order wasn’t implemented.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the Ministry of Interior to remove Shibli Faraz’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) within one week.
IHC Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard Shibli Faraz’s application against contempt of court for not removing his name from ECL despite court orders.
Shibli Faraz along with his lawyer appeared before the court.
The court inquired about the applicant’s name removal from ECL.
Lawyer responded that they were not given any response or report on this matter.
Justice Jahangiri remarked on why Shibli Faraz didn’t raise the matter in the National Assembly being a parliamentarian.
Shibli Faraz’s lawyer replied that nothing was happening there, in fact the speaker also agreed with this stance.
The court directed to remove Shibli Faraz’s name from ECL within a week and update the court about this matter.
The court ordered the appearance of the Home secretary in personal capacity if the court order wasn’t implemented.
The court has adjourned the case hearing until one week.
