LAHORE (Dunya News) - Supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party allegedly erupted in violence in Gulberg, Lahore, hurling stones at police and firing gunshots in the air.

Angry PTI activists caused damage to a police van, leading to the arrest of over 20 supporters, who were transported to an unknown location in a prisoner van.

Following a police crackdown on PTI members, enraged individuals blocked Mini Market Road and set tires ablaze. Police reported that the protesters also pelted stones at a police vehicle, breaking its windows.

In response, a police spokesperson stated that officers were conducting routine checks near Gulberg's Omega Center when a group of agitated individuals interfered and resisted.

SP Model Town, Ikhlaq Allah Tarar, emphasised that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands, and that every effort would be made to maintain public safety and order.
