We will continue to use our sanctions to ensure national security is not compromised
WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller has said Pakistan has been long-term partner of the US, but it has clear policy to check proliferation of lethal weapons.
"We have been clear and consistent for our concerns about Pakistan's ballistic missile programme for many years," Matthew Miller said at a press briefing in Washington on Tuesday.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller has said the US is committed to strengthening the international non-proliferation regime by taking action against networks that support the proliferation of deadly weapons.
“We will continue to use our sanctions and other measures to ensure that our national security is not compromised.
“Our concerns regarding Pakistan's ballistic missile programme are clear, but Pakistan has been our long-term partner,” the US official said.
On pager explosions in Lebanon, Matthew Miller said the US was not complicit in the explosions, adding the US administration wants a thorough investigation into the blasts.
He stressed the need of holding talks between Israel and Hezbollah to settle issues, adding the US had so far no opinion with regard to explosions in Lebanon.
