HARNAI (Dunya News) - The dead bodies of 12 miners were recovered from a coal mine in Harnai, a district in Balochistan province.
A gas explosion in the coal mine had left at least 18 miners trapped underground yesterday.
The incident occurred in Zardallu area near Harnai where part of a coal mine collapsed after the explosion, trapping 10 miners underground.

After receiving the information about the incident, eight miners went inside for help, but they were also trapped in the mine.
Chief Mines Inspector said that eight miners were brought alive from the mine while attempts are being made to save other lives.

Two teams are taking part in the rescue operation at the depth of 1000 feet.
Meanwhile, chief minister Sarfraz Bugti took notice of the incident and directed the officials to expedite the operation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in Harnai.
Condoling with the bereaved families, he prayed for the departed souls. He said all possible medical treatment be provided to the injured miners.
The prime minister said that such incidents are very painful and sad. He said we stand with the affected families in this hour of grief.
He said the government will provide all possible relief to the injured and affected families.
