The party could hold unconditional talks with PTI, says Kaira

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari constituted a three-member body to persuade allies in the government to start the process with the PTI, said a statement issued on Thursday.

Senator Yousuf Raza Gillani, Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar and PM’s Adviser on Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira will “engage with allies in the coalition government to reach consensus on dialogue with all political parties”.

The main task of the three PPP leaders is to persuade the PML-N and JUI-F to hold talks with PTI on all issues, including elections, to end the ongoing crises.

Kaira disclosed that the party could hold unconditional talks with the PTI. Speaking to a news channel, he claimed PTI chief Imran Khan was the biggest impediment adding that the PPP was in favour of holding elections at one time in the country. “PPP has constituted a committee in the leadership of ex-PM Yusuf Raza Gillani in this regard” he added.

He said the situation was worsening and a solution needed to be devised. “Decisions taken in anger and haste hold no waters,” he added.

Earlier, PTI leader Asad Qaiser said if the government was serious about dialogue, it should dissolve the National Assembly. "This is the only way to hold elections on the same day," Mr Qaisar said.

The dissolution of the national assembly may end the ongoing crisis, the former NA speaker held.
