WASHINGTON (Dunya News) – US State Department spokesperson Ned Price, while briefing the newsmen in Washington on Tuesday said that the United States wants peace and stability in South Asia.

State Department spokesperson said that the US is open to work with any elected government in Pakistan. Pakistan is a partner of ours; we share a number of interests. We have demonstrated our desire to see constructive relations with Pakistan over the course of successive governments.

He said that we have strategic partnership with both Pakistan and India and added that both the countries have to resolve all their issues through dialogue. He said we’ve long called for regional stability in South Asia and that is certainly what we want to see.

Replying to a question about power breakdown in Pakistan, Ned Price said that our thoughts are with all those who’ve been affected by the outages. The United States of course has assisted our Pakistani partners across any number of challenges. We are prepared to do so in this case if there is something that we’re able to provide.
