Jahangir Tareen discusses political situation with Suleman Shehbaz
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) disgruntled and politically snoozed leader Jahangir Tareen on Tuesday exchanged thoughts with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s son Suleman Shehbaz.
The development comes in the wake of uncertain political situation in Punjab unfolding due to no-confidence vote against Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Parvez Elahi in the Punjab Assembly (PA).
Sources said that Mr Tareen met Mr Suleman along with PM’s Special Assistant Aun Chaudhry. “Mr Suleman shared PM’s message with him and deliberated on future political situation”, he added.
Earlier, the opposition turned the assembly into ruckus over not taking up the agenda on vote of confidence by the CM. However, Jan 11 is believed be the deciding date for Mr Elahi’s fate as the CM as the Lahore High Court had suspended Punjab Governor Baligh ur Rehman’s notification removing Mr Elahi as the CM as well as asked the CM to obtain a vote of confidence in the assembly till Jan 11 before moving on to PTI’s – the coalition partner of Mr Elahi’s party in PA – calls for dissolution of the assembly. Not to mention the fact that the case is still being debated in the court which adds more uncertainty to the complex situation. The PA adjourned the session until 2pm on Jan 10.
