Distance from establishment must to change Pakistan, Khokhar tells politicians

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader and former senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said on Monday that the politicians will have to distance themselves from the establishment if they want to put the country on the right track.

Quoting the PILDAT report which revealed that politicians are avaricious for power, Khokhar said that local body elections were not held in Islamabad and if Pakistan is to be changed, then the politicians will also have to move away from the establishment.

He went on to say that the hopelessness has spread in the society but the politicians do not talk about the road map, adding that the direction of the government is not right.

The former senator further added that former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan is a popular leader but everyone come together and take Pakistan towards a solution.

“The establishment has influence in politics, whatever happened in 75 years did not improve for the lives of a common man and now the country’s economy is at the verge of bankruptcy,” the former PPP leader said and added the journey of 75 years has not been good, however India and Bangladesh are ahead of us. “Look at our judiciary, today, Pakistan is being compared to Afghanistan,” he added.
