US wants to keep trainers, Pakistan wants intel accord

Pakistan and the US have spurred discussions regarding US trainers in Pakistan and info-sharing.

American Senator Karl Leon has offered conditional restoration of US assistance for Pakistan during a meeting with Pakistan’s political and defence leadership.Senator Karl Leon said if Pakistan lets US trainers stay in Pakistan, Washington is ready to restore assistance for Pakistan.On the other hand, Pakistan has directed that all Americans should visit Pakistan in accordance with new procedure introduced for visas for Americans.Sources said that Pakistan would also like to sign an agreement regarding sharing of intelligence reports after the incident of May 2 but the US is hesitating in this regard.A high-level American delegation would visit Pakistan tomorrow for further discussion on current matters.On the other hand, American embassy stated that they have not received any letter in this regard.
