ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senior journalist Matiullah Jan has challenged the trial court's decision in the drug and terrorism case against him. According to sources, Matiullah Jan filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court against the trial court’s ruling.

The appeal, filed through Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq, contests the trial court's order not to remove drug charges from the case. The petition argues that the Anti-Terrorism Court's order should be annulled, and requests that the drug charges be dropped.

In his petition, Matiullah Jan stated that there is no video or CCTV footage available to support the drug seizure claims, emphasizing that, according to the decisions of higher judiciary, video evidence is required in cases involving drug recovery.

It is worth noting that two days ago, the Anti-Terrorism Court had rejected Matiullah Jan's request to remove the drug charges, and now the same decision is being challenged in the Islamabad High Court.
