PM Shehbaz Sharif again calls for 'charter of economy'

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday while once again offering “charter of economy” said that the country is facing cruel realities which can be faced with the continuation of policies.

Addressing the nation, the Prime Minister said that the nation is facing despair and crisis today but it has full potential to achieve every goal and today, with many others, we face an emotional crisis. He said that Pakistan has been achieved after millions of sacrifices.

Shehbaz Sharif also urged all political forces to work together for the future of next generations instead of considering results of next elections.

He said it is time we continue our journey in right direction and do not sacrifice our national interest on the altar of ego and rigidity. He said we are facing ruthless facts and it requires national consensus, continuity of policies and political and economic stability for their solution.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan s establishment and congratulated every Pakistani across the globe on the eve of Diamond Jubilee celebrations on 75th Independence Day.

Shehbaz Sharif said the reality is the people had only celebrated Independence Day in name for the last 75 years instead of adopting its real meaning. The Premier said we must openly admit that we couldn t give our children that of which they rightfully deserved.

Shehbaz Sharif called for the formation of a charter of economy and urged the political parties to come together for Pakistan to head in the right direction.

The PM also saluted the innumerable Pakistanis who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan and felicitated Pakistanis across the world on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan and said history was witness that Pakistan was created after millions of Muslims sacrificed their lives.

“But today mere felicitation is not enough. In the past, we just celebrated Independence Day but did not make enough efforts to achieve the goals of independence so that souls of the Quaid and martyrs are satisfied and in comfort.”

He said Pakistanis enthusiastically and with great joy celebrate the Independence Day of their country and the anniversaries of Quaid e Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal, adding, “today we have to accept the truth with an open heart that we cannot give to our younger generation, what it truly deserved.”

He said the Pakistani nation was bestowed with great blessings of Allah and it was guided by the life of Quaid e Azam and thoughts of Allama Iqbal. He asked why such a nation was still striving to find its destination. Pakistan was faced with multiple challenges and the biggest of it was the economic challenge, he pointed out.

The PM said today’s crisis was wavering of the self-dignity and self-confidence of the nation.
