FIA committing contempt of court on Imran Khan's order: Marriyum

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Spokesperson of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday said that Federal Investigation Agency is committing contempt of court by not allowing Shehbaz Sharif to travel abroad on Imran Khan’s order.

Talking to the media after Shehbaz Sharif was denied to fly Marriyum Aurangzeb condemned the move and said that restraining him from travelling abroad is a contempt of court, adding the claim regarding the system updating is false.

She further said that the government’s mean maneuvers does not make any difference to Shehbaz Sharif," she said. However, the PML-N will take recourse to the courts soon as the consultation process with the legal experts is underway.

Aurangzeb said her party has all the legal options to visit.

Ata Tarar also spoke to the media and lashed out at the government and said that everybody was a witness to how Zulfi Bukhari’s name was struck off from the blacklist, while the ECL did not have Shehbaz Sharif’s name.

Earlier in the morning, FIA barred PML-N president and leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif from leaving for Doha, Qatar.

FIA staff stopped Shehbaz Sharif on immigration counter at the Allama Iqbal International Airport and informed him that his name is still on black list in their record.

Shehbaz Sharif was scheduled to depart for Doha from Lahore, where he was expected to stay for two to three days. From Doha, the PML-N leader was scheduled to leave for London.
