Heavy showers turn weather pleasant in Lahore, Islamabad

People heaved a sigh of relief after days of sizzling heat in Punjab and elsewhere in the country.

Lahore and Islamabad received first showers of pre-monsoon, which broke heat spell to some extent.Heavy showers with thunderstorm on Friday night inundated various low lying areas of Lahore.Other parts of Punjab and Kashmir also received pre-monsoon showers which turned the weather pleasant and people heaved a sigh of relief after days of enduring sizzling heat.The rain started in Lahore at 9am on Friday and then it revisited after 9pm.It rained continuously the entire Friday night which inundated various city roads. At least 50mm rain was recorded in Lahore.Heavy clouds blanketed Faisalabad, Balakot, Jhelum, Sialkot, Mangla, Murree, Kakool and Rawalakot, during the last 24 hours whereas strong winds also blew in various other cities, but hope of rain remained insatiate.
