Govt fully aware of sense of deprivation of people of Balochistan: PM Imran

The PM said ensuring complete law and order in Balochistan was the top priority of the government.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that the government is fully aware of the sense of deprivation of the people of Balochistan and efforts are being made to address it.

The second meeting of the National Development Council was held in Islamabad with PM Imran Khan in chair. The meeting considered in detail the national development agenda.

The meeting considered various projects to improve transportation, better utilization of water resources, agriculture, energy projects, establishment of border markets and taking full advantage of Gwadar Port in the backward areas of Balochistan.

Addressing the meeting on the occasion, the prime minister said that ensuring complete law and order in Balochistan and socio-economic development was the top priority of the government.

Imran Khan said that in the past, the use of resources for the welfare of the people of Balochistan was completely neglected, which left a large part of the province backward and created a sense of deprivation among the people.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPEC) Chairman and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Lt Gen (r) Asim Saleem Bajwa, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Muhammad Hamad Azhar, Federal Maritime Affairs Minister Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Advisor for Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production, and Investment of Pakistan Abdul Razak Dawood and Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan attended the meeting.
