The main accused in NATO containers case Jamal Durrani was held from Faisalabad.

The accused was arrested from Faisalabad Railways Station. He has been remanded to police custody for 5 days. Dunya News, in June 2010, aired the news about the theft of 11 thousand NATO containers. Under the garb of supplies to NATO, contraband items were smuggled to Pakistan in NATO containers, incurring the loss of Rs 220 billion to the national exchequer. The Supreme Court took a suo moto notice of the scam and directed the federal tax ombudsman to probe, who submitted a report in three months. The report revealed the scam continued from January 1, 2007 to December 24, 2010.The report also included the names of officers allegedly involved in it.
