Excise Duty on cold drinks has been reduced from 12 percent to six percent.

Furthermore the Sales Tax holiday on import of defence equipment has also been withdrawn in the budget. Value added tax on commercial importers have been increased from 2 to 3 percent. Previously, Federal Excise Duty on tobacco was 5 percent which has been increased to 10 percent. The federal government has also imposed 16 percent Sales Tax on cement and cement blocks. Sixteen percent Sales Tax has been withdrawn on sugar and 8 percent Excise Duty has been imposed. Regulatory duty on edible has also been withdrawn.
