Police rescue 10 passengers during encounter with robbers in Obaro

19 passengers were abducted from a Quetta-bound bus in Obaro; joint operation of police and rangers continue against the outlaws
OBARO (Dunya News) – Police claimed to have rescued 10 out of 19 passengers abducted by robbers from a Quetta-bound bus in Obaro town of Sindh on Monday night.
According to Obaro DSP, the hostages were rescued after an encounter in Somiani, adding there was an exchange of fire between the police and the robbers, after which the area was cordoned off.
Some of the rescued passengers are injured and being treated, according to police.

Earlier it was reported that a passenger bus going from Sadiqabad to Quetta was robbed by bandits and several passengers were kidnapped.
There were 27 people on the bus, including women. The robbers left the women and took 19 men with them. Eyewitnesses said that the number of robbers was in the dozens, all of them had modern weapons.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police and rangers reached the scene and cordoned off the area.
Initially, the police said some passengers were missing and had hidden in the sugarcane fields out of fear, but they could not confirm the kidnapping of the passengers.
