Aleem Khan allowed to skip court until NAB files references
NAB prosecutor told the court that a reference would be filed after getting record of the companies.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – An accountability court on Monday granted exemption to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Abdul Aleem Khan from court appearance until the filing of assets beyond income and offshore companies references against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The accountability court judge took up the case. During the proceedings, NAB prosecutor Qaris Janjua told the court that the letters have been written to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities for the provision of record of the PTI leader’s offshore companies.
He told the court that a reference would be filed soon after getting record of the companies.
PTI leader Abul Aleem Khan couldn’t appear before the court as he is in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
The court while accepting his plea for absence from the court granted him exemption until the anti-graft watchdog files reference against him.
It is pertinent here to mention that Abdul Aleem Khan was arrested over allegations of assets beyond income, while the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted him bail.
