LAHORE (Dunya News) – Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and Federal Minister for Pakistan Railways Sheikh Rasheed on Thursday following Supreme Court s (SC) orders summoned an emergency meeting of the Railway department.

In a video message, he said that the apex court has given a deadline of 15 days to remove the encroachments along the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) route as 46-acre land is under the use of KCR from which nine-acre has been already retrieved while the remaining would be soon.

"Sindh govt has to provide the alternative lands and residences to homeless after removal of encroachments following its constitutional and legal responsibilities," said the federal minister.

Offering Sindh govt to sit together with federation on this issue, Rasheed went on saying that within the 15 days further 26-acre land would be retrieved; but Pakistan Railways is stakeholder of 60pc shares to which it [Pakistan Railways] is ready to surrender but Sindh government would be responsible of consequences.
