IMF didnt ask to increase power tariff: Hafeez

No talks about the new loans were held with the IMF during his visit, Sheikh said.

Federal Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh said that the IMF didn’t impose condition of two percent increase in power tariff.Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Sheikh hoped that Pakistan would receive $381 million dollars under Kerry-Lugar Bill and $500 dollars under Coalition Support Fund before June. He said that the talks with IMF didn’t fail and he was satisfied with talks. No talks about the new loans were held with the IMF during his visit, he said, adding that targeted subsidies would be given after removing general subsidies.
