YDA said that the committee had failed to submit their recommendations for an increase in salaries.
The Young Doctors Association (YDA) have called a general council meeting and have threatened the Punjab government to continue their strike if their salaries are not increased. According to the YDA spokesperson, Aftab Ashraf, the committee formed to resolve the issue was supposed to submit their recommendations for the increase in salaries to the Punjab Chief Minister but even after 18 days, the committee had failed to submit their recommendations.Ashraf blamed the government members of the committee. He said that after returning from the official visit to china, they did not even bother answering the phone.He threatened that if the government did not increase salaries, then doctors will continue with the strike.
