NA rejects cancellation of alcohol permit bill
Since the alcohol is prohibited in all religions so its its permit must be abrogated
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The cancellation of alcohol permit bill has been rejected in the National Assembly (NA).
The bill was presented by the government with support of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) but bill was opposed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People Party (PPP).
Sources privy to development further added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member National Assembly (MNA) Ramesh Kumar, while seeking permission for the presentation of bill to make amendment in article 37, said that since the alcohol is prohibited in all religions including Islam, Hinduism and Christianity so its permit must be abrogated.
According to details, national assembly deputy speaker had rejected the bill as the bill was opposed by majority of the house, however, MMA member of NA staged protest over the rebuff of bill.
"When PTI and MMA demanded re-voting after the denunciation of bill, opposition walked out declaring it violation of code of conduct."
Deputy speaker Qasim Khan Sori had adjourned the NA session till Wednesday.
