Provincial cabinet approved the repealing of Ehtisab Commission

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday decided to dissolve Ehtisab Commission and the Rs300 million funds would be give to Anti-Corruption Department.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday decided to repeal Ehtisab Commission Act, 2014.

Sources told Dunya News that provincial cabinet with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in the chair approved the repealing of Ehtisab Commission Act, 2014.

Following the decision, regular employees of the commission will either be given golden hand shake or will be put in the surplus pool, while the contract employees would be sacked.

On the other hand, talking to media, Provincial Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai said the cases of the commission will be transferred to the Provincial Anti-Corruption Establishment.

The minister said that amendments were being made in the laws of Anti-Corruption Establishment to further strengthen the department.

Shaukat Yousafzai said that a seven-member committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Minister for Tourism and Youth Affairs Atif Khan for taking steps in connection with the merger of tribal districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
