SC orders to form committee to check chicken meat quality in Punjab
Quality of chicken meat should be checked in Punjab, orders SC.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – In a hearing of suo motu case regarding sale of contaminated chicken in Lahore, the Supreme Court ordered to form a committee to test samples for presence of different harmful chemicals in meat at various places in Punjab.
The three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar ordered to collect samples of chicken meat from different sale points in Punjab in order to gather data about the meat quality and to detect various harmful chemicals which can affect public health.
Moreover, the CJP noticed that chicken meat was causing hormonal imbalance in human body. The bench was told by an expert that feed of chicken is an important thing to cause hormonal changes in body, if it is made by natural ingredients then it would not be harmful for health of people.
