Turbat massacre: SC seeks report on human trafficking from FIA DG, provincial govt

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Hearing suo moto notice of Turbat killing, Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday sought detailed report on human trafficking crime from director general in Federal investigation Agency (FIA) and provincial government.

A three-member bench heard the case during which Chief Justice Saqib Nisar expressed resentment and said that preventing a crime before execution is actual skill.

FIA DG told the court that investigation is being affected due to limited resources and unavailability of complete tolls over which CJ said, "if there are no resources, then admit that you cannot do anything."

He also asked FIA DG to assure that such kind of incidents will not happen in future. Court is ready to support, if you show some performance, he continued.

FIA DG said that 20 people were killed by banned outfit over ethnic issue.

Meanwhile, Balochistan chief secretary informed the apex court that all the agencies are in continuous contact to eliminate human trafficking from the country. He said that extremists are limited to two districts now due to security operations.

Moreover, the court has adjourned the hearing till first week of February. 

In November, 20 bullet-riddled bodies were found on a mountain in Balochistan’s Turbat district. The victims were trying to illegally cross the Iranian border to reach Gulf countries when they were kidnapped by unidentified men near Buleda valley in Kech District and killed.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) claimed that security forces had killed a terrorist who was involved in Turbat massacre.

Terrorist Younas Taukali identified as one of top 8 Balochistnn Liberation Front (BLF) commander was killed some 20 kilometres west of Bulada and 25 kilometres North of incident site from where 15 dead bodied were recovered.
