US drone attack kills three persons, injures 2 in Kurram Agency
The drone attack took place in Ghuzgari area on Thursday morning.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News / AP) – At least three persons were killed and two others injured in a drone strike in Kurram Agency near Pak-Afghan border.
According to sources, the US drone fired two missiles on Haqqani Network compound on the Pesho Ghar mountain in the Kurram tribal region s Ghuzgari area, killing three suspected members of the banned outfit.
Pakistan opposes drone strikes, saying they violate its sovereignty and claims it has eradicated militant sanctuaries there. The drone strikes, however, effectively target hideouts of militants who operate on both sides of the porous border.
The Haqqanis are one of the strongest factions in the Afghan Taliban insurgency and have earned a fearsome reputation for their vicious attacks on NATO troops and Afghan installations over the years.
