NICL corruption case: CJP orders to arrest main culprits
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that main culprits of corruption should be arrested and culture of providing influentials safe hand should be ended. During the hearing of National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) Corruption Scandal case, the CJP remarked that this was a corruption of Rs 18 billion and it wasnt a small scale corruption, and national wealth would be brought back at any cost. He said that proper investigation should be held, culprits should be arrested and wealth should be brought back. The CJP asked the FIA officials to arrest all those involved in the corruption as only Ayaz Khan was arrested in the case. Justice Ramday said that the accused were at large and FIA wasnt doing anything. Secretary Commerce Zafar Mehmood told the court that powers to audit the departments has been shifted to Security Exchange Commission while Supreme Court has summoned Secretary Interior for changing the investigation of the case.
