Dozens of vehicles trapped after heavy snowfall in Galyat
Tourists complained that the authorities did not initiate any effort to clear the roads.
GALYAT (Dunya News) – Several people including women and children had to spend night on roads after their vehicles got trapped due to heavy snowfall in Baryan area of Galyat region.
Speaking to Dunya News, some of the affectees complained that the authorities did not initiate any effort to clear the roads.
Reportedly, the road has been completely blocked in Khaira Gali, one of the tourist mountain resort towns of the Galyat area.
On the other hand, snowfall has stopped in Kalat and adjoining areas after three days. Locals could be seen clearing the roads on their own.
According to Met Office, rain with snowfall over the hills is likely at scattered places in Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next twelve hours.

During the last 12 hours, 30 millimeters rain was recorded in Chakwal, Lahore 21, Gujranwala 14, Islamabad/Rawalpindi 13, Sialkot 12, Jhelum and Joharabad 11, Mangla and Sargodha 10 millimeters.
On Monday morning, temperature recorded in major cities including Islamabad was Islamabad six degree centigrade, Lahore eight, Karachi eleven, Peshawar seven, Quetta minus four, Gilgit three, Murree minus one and Muzaffarabad four degree centigrade.
According to the synoptic situation, an active westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Wednesday.
