New Delhi (Web Desk) – The Indian government summoned Pakistani high commissioner, Abdul Basit on Wednesday to file a formal protest over mistreatment of Indian envoy in Karachi, reported Dunya News. According to the details, the Indian high commissioner to Pakistan, Gautam Bambawale had to address at a meeting organized by Karachi Chamber of Commerce, however, his speech was cancelled just at the eleventh hour.

Abdul Basit rejected the protest by expressing that Karachi Chamber of Commerce is a private entity and not a government organization as such. He also told that even he was not allowed to attend various meetings inside India in the past.

“India should instead work things out by solving the issues that are the bone of contention between the arch rivals,” he said.

Spokesperson of Pakistani high commission told that the cancellation of meetings to which Pakistani envoy had to address was a routine in India. He further said that all these meetings were cancelled on the pressure of the Indian government and even those meetings were cancelled in which the motive was to present the soft image of Pakistan.
