Pakistan is awaiting the initiation of discussions by India, says Sartaj Aziz.

WASHINGTON (Dunya News) –Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday stated that Pakistan is concerned about India’s growing arsenal. He stated that Pakistan could not cut back on its nuclear assets unless India didn’t do it as well.

Addressing the US think tank’s Council on Foreign Relations, the Foriegn Affairs advisor stated that Pakistan is awaiting the initiation of discussions by India. Aziz added that US should consider balance when adopting a defence policy for India and Pakistan.

In a talk with the US think tank Defence Writer Group, Aziz stated that the Army Public School’s (APS) terrorist attack incident had united the Pakistani nation. He stated that acts of terrorism had reduced considerably.

The Foreign Affairs Advisor added that non-registered Madarassas (religious schools) were also being shut down throughout the country and investors were not returning to Pakistan.

Aziz also stated that the work was underway on Gwadar port and in the energy sector with cooperation of China.
