India-held Kashmir shuts down in protest over youth killing
The call for the protest has been given by Hurriyet leaders.
SRINAGAR (Dunya News) - A complete strike is being observed across the India-held Kashmir valley on Sunday against the killing of a young man.
Gohar Ahmad was shot dead by the Indian forces during a protest held against the visit of Prime Minister Modi.
The call for the protest has been given by Hurriyat leaders.
Stores, businesses and schools have been slammed shut across the valley to protest the killing.
Hurriyet leader Mir Waiz Umer Farooq stated that Kashmiri people rejected billion dollar Indian package as they cannot trade their sacrifices in exchange of economic package.

He said that India has deprived the people of Kashmir from their humanitarian, political and religious rights.
In wake of the protests, curfew has also been imposed in various areas of held Kashmir.
The people of the occupied valley protested in various ways including releasing black balloons in the air upon Modi’s arrival and chanting loud slogans against Modi-led regime.
The region of occupied Kashmir echoed with anti-Modi slogans. The Indian army fired bullets to disperse the protestors which led to killing of a Kashmiri youth.
The puppet state government had sealed Srinagar to stop Hurriyat leaders from holding million march against Modi’s arrival.

Over 2000 workers were also put on house arrests and prisons. The valley presented a picture as though it was fortified upon Modi’s arrival. The valley was shut down using armoured vehicles, military troops, barbed wires and countless check posts.
