Army deployment in Islamabad extended for another three months

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan army will continue to monitor security arrangements of sensitive buildings in federal capital Islamabad till September 15, Dunya News reported on Thursday.

The government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), in a wake of security concerns, called on army under article 245 to take charge of Red Zone during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) sit-ins. The army personnel were appointed at the security of important buildings including Parliament, President House and Prime Minister House.

Moreover, federal authorities have extended this duration for further three months which was due to end on July 15.
