Rangers 'exceeding powers,' CM Sindh writes letter to DG Rangers

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali shah on Wednesday sent a letter to DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar, expressing concern over ‘exceeding powers’ by the paramilitary force in the province, Dunya News reported.
The Chief Minister was of the view that Rangers were given powers under Counter Terrorism Act 1973 to counter terror elements.
Qaim Ali Shah expressed concern over Rangers` raids on state-run institutions especially the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA).
Copy of the letter was forwarded to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar as well.
