He was arrested from Khurshid Memorial Hospital, says Khan

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The court on Friday has given custody of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Amir Khan to Rangers on seven-day physical remand.

Khan was presented before the court today for hearing of the case.

He said that he was arrested from Khurshid Memorial Hospital. He said that the party members hear out people’s problems there and try to find solutions for them. However, the plaintiff’s counsel said that Khan is not the owner of the hospital and thus he could not accommodate anyone there.

The Rangers law officer said that no investigation has been done for the past at least 90 days. However, joint investigation team (JIT) did its job, he added.

Earlier, Khan was arrested by the Rangers personnel during a search and siege operation at MQM headquarters Nine-Zero on March 11. Convicted criminals including Ubaid K2 were taken in custody from the party’s headoffice.

Dunya News has obtained the first information report (FIR) registered at Azizabad Police Station against the MQM leader. Khan is accused of harbouring criminals. According to the allegations, Khan harboured criminal Faisal alias Mota involved in journalist Wali Babar’s killing, Nouman alias Nomi in Naimat Dandhawa Advocate’s murder and Ubaid K2.
