Detained Yar Muhammad Rind contacts disgruntled Zulfiqar Mirza
"Oil was discovered on my personal land in Jamshoro, PPP minister offered to buy land but refused"
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Former minister, currently detained by Sindh government, Yar Muhammad Rind has on Saturday contacted former Home Minister Sindh, and disgruntled Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader, Zulfiqar Mirza. He said that oil was discovered in Jamshoro district on land that he own. “My detention is backlash of the government since I refused to sell the same land to a PPP minister”, said Rind.
According to Daily Dunya sources, Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza assured Rind of his help and said that no high handedness by the government will be tolerated. Advising Rind to legally pursue the case, Zulfiqar Mirza assured him of complete support.
It is pertinent to mention here that Yar Muhammad Rind and his son were alleged by an oil-exploring company that the former minister was asking for extortion worth millions of rupees every month and threatening to harm the company officers and equipment in case of noncompliance. The oil-exploring company had also demanded security from the government.
Home department ordered house detention of Yar Muhammad Rind and his son on Friday.
