Imran Khan reaches Lady Reading Hospital without protocol

Surprise visit to the hospital was planned so that patients may not face any difficulty, Imran said.

PESHAWAR (Web Desk / Agencies) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Tuesday reached the Lady Reading Hospital without any protocol to inquire about the health of people who got injured due to recent rains and storm in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Dunya News reported.

He was accompanied by Reham Khan and Health Minister Shahram Tarakai.

Talking to media on the occasion, Imran Khan clarified that Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and provincial minister were working from day one.

He said that ‘surprise’ visit to the hospital was planned so that patients may not face any difficulty.

Khan vowed to make the Lady Reading Hospital a model hospital. He said people will see a prominent change in the next three months. 

At least 45 people were killed and 250 others injured following heavy rains and windstorm in three districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday.

A heavy storm hammered different areas of the province, including Peshawar, Charsadda and Naushera, followed by heavy rains on Sunday.

Roofs of many houses were blown off as heavy winds hit parts of the province, collapsing walls and electricity poles. At least 17 mm rain was recorded in Peshawar and adjacent areas, while strong winds ran as high as 110 kmph.
