Nankana Sahib: By-election in NA-137 to be held on Sunday

10 to contest by-elections, taking place due to the demise of PML-N's MNA Rai Mansab Ali Khan

NANKANA SAHIB: (Dunya News) – By-elections in NA-137, Nankana Sahib, are going to be held tomorrow (Sunday). The seat was vacated after the demise of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Rai Mansab Ali Khan. Ten candidates are going to contest the election, Dunya News reported.

PML-N has awarded the ticket to Rai Mansab Ali Khan’s daughter Dr. Sahzra Mansab. Independent candidate Brigadier (r) Ijaz Shah enjoys the support of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has awarded the ticket to Shahjehan Bhatti.

Total registered voters in this constituency are 287,719 and 256 polling stations have been set up for them. Voting will start at 8 am and will continue till 5 in the evening without any brake. 48 polling stations have been declared as sensitive due to threat of violence. 1,129 police officials will be posted to deal with any unwanted situation.

Two teams of Rangers have also arrived in Nankana Sahib.
