India reacts to IHC's order regarding Lakhvi's release
Indian Ministry of Home Affairs issued a statement shortly after the IHC ordered Lakhvi's release.
NEW DELHI (Web Desk) - India Friday strongly reacted to reports of the Islamabad High Court ordering the release of Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, an alleged mastermind of Mumbai attacks.
"It is the responsibility of the Pakistan government to take all legal measures to ensure that Lakhvi does not come out of jail. There are no good or bad terrorists," the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs said in a statement.
The statements from the Indian side came shortly after Islamabad High Court s Justice Noorul Haq accepted Lakhvi s appeal filed against his third time detention orders and ordered his immediate release.
The 55-year-old has been accused of masterminding, along with six others, the Mumbai attacks in 2008, when 10 terrorists entered India s financial capital through searoute and carried out the mayhem.
The trial has been underway since 2009. He has been detained at Adiala jail for the last five years or so.
