Hearing of defamation suit against Imran Khan adjourned without proceedings

Case was adjourned pertaining to Imran Khan's prosecutor Babar Awan ill health.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Defamation case filed against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan by former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was adjourned without proceedings on Saturday.
Hearing of the case was commenced by District and Session Judge Islamabad Tanveer Mir. The case was adjourned after Imran Khan’s prosecutor Babar Awan was unable to appear before the court due to ill health.
Ex-CJ’s lawyer Taufeeq Asif said Babar Awan had claimed that he was anxiously awaiting the argument and now when it’s time; he isn’t appearing before the court adding that Iftikhar Chaudhry was ready to come for the proceedings. He further stated that Imran Khan has not yet submitted any response accusing that the issue was being dragged on purpose.
