Political, religious leaders condemn Rawalpindi attack

The attack was widely condemned by various political leaders.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya news) – Political leaders and government Ministers on Wednesday severely condemned the attack in Rawalpindi. Some leaders demanded the arrest of those involved in the act of terrorism. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef and President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain strongly condemned the violent incidence of firing and explosion on an Imambargah in Rawalpindi that left 3 dead and 2 injured.


According to the details, the attack was widely denounced by various political leaders. Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen strongly condemned the terrorism. Its member Allama Asghar Askari while talking to the media stated that they were tired of picking up dead bodies. He said if the incidences of terrorism do not stop they will start walking towards Islamabad. Askari demanded that the government immediately arrests those responsible for the attack. He also demanded that the circle of Operation Zarb-e-Azb should be further widened.


Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s chief Altaf Hussain strongly denounced the act of terrorism and expressed his sorrow for the loss of precious lives.


Punjab’s Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif expressed his compassion and solidarity with the victims of the attack. Sharif reiterated the resolve to bring terrorists to justice.


Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rasheed and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Marvi Memon also criticized the terrorist act in harsh terms.


Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Asad Umar severely condemned the act of violence and called for effective measures to be implemented by the government.
