NA-122: Election tribunal orders recounting in constituency
Speaker of National Assembly has announced to challenge the decision in the High Court
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Election Tribunal headed by Judge Kazim Malik on Wednesday has given out a detailed result of the recounting of votes in the constituency NA-122.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said that he would register condemn of court case against the judge as the tribunal has done a unilateral decision.
The tribunal’s judge Kazim Malik gave out an 18-page verdict ordering the inquiry commission to open up voting bags in NA-122 and recount the votes and also see that how many votes were discarded.
He also ordered to check that how many counter files do not have National Identity Card (NIC) numbers and how many votes have thumb stamps on them.
Whereas, Speaker of National Assembly has announced to challenge the decision in the High Court.
Speaker Sadiq’s lawyer said that the tribunal did not hear out his client Ayaz Sadiq and his witnesses before giving out the verdict.
He also said that opening of the record without informing the people concerned is a criminal negligence.
The election tribunal also ignored the orders of the Supreme Court (SC), he added.
