Army takes an active role in negotiations upon PM's request: ISPR

LAHORE (Dunya News, Web Desk) – As political tension diffuses, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) ‎General Raheel Sharif is scheduled to meet Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and ‎Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri to further the process of mediation between the ‎protestors and the federal government to reach a consensus within 24 hours.‎

‎ In a tweet by Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa, it was stated ‎that COAS would meet Khan and Qadri for the process of mediation tonight in Islamabad.‎

Prior to this development, COAS met with Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to discuss the current ‎political crisis where the PM requested him to play an active role in resolving the crisis, reportedly.
