Achakzai calls to protest against PAT, PTI sit-in

Achakzai appeals his party workers to hold protests against the PAT and PTI sit-in in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP)’s chairman and member of National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai appealed his party workers to hold protests against the sit-in by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek in Islamabad on Sunday, Dunya News reported. He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Jamaat-e-Islami and Awami National Party workers who are ten times more in strength than PAT and PTI supporters can easily push off the protestors in Islamabad.
Achakzai has advised all the political parties to form a democratic front to safeguard interests of the Parliament, Constitution and the general public. Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri’s demands will lead to country’s failure, said Achakzai.
In a press conference in Quetta, Achakzai said that the ongoing political drama in Islamabad is set to derail democracy. He termed the sit-in protests outside the Parliament in Islamabad, an invasion of the Federal Capital by the club-wielding mob. He said that we are fortunate because all the political parties, stand together to safeguard the interests of the parliament, democracy and public. The sit-in protests have crippled the entire system; however, the government is tackling the situation patiently. We will not accept martial law at any cost. All those who raise hands against democracy in Pakistan will be dealt with rigorously, said Achakzai. He said that all institutions should work within their boundaries. The country will not survive in case the situation deteriorates, he said. Achakzai urged that the stability of institutions and army depends on strengthening of democracy in the country. Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri were supporting Musharraf in the past, he remarked. He claimed that the political leadership advocates rule of law, democracy and public interest in the country. If Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri prove the injustice against them, the parliamentarians are ready to resign, he stressed. Answering a question in the press conference, he said that both Sharif’s are on the same page to safeguard democracy in the country.
