Government, Pakistan Army united against terrorism: PM Nawaz

The PM says Pakistan Army and other institutions will provide maximum assistance to IDPs.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News/ Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that government Pakistan Army are on same page to root out terrorism from the country.

Addressing a meeting in Peshawar on Friday, he said the cherished goal of peace is not far away.

The PM expressed the confidence that the nation will win the war against terror.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan Agency.  He said the whole nation is backing the security forces in the war against terror.

The PM said Pakistan Army and other institutions will provide assistance to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)
He assured that the federal government will also help to rehabilitate the affected people.

The PM directed Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to ensure maximum utilization of available resources for facilitation of the IDPs. He said the government will not leave them alone in this hour of need and stress.

PM Nawaz directed for providing maximum relief to IDPs at camps.

Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif laid wreath on the Martyrs Monument at Corps Headquarters in Peshawar on Friday and offered special prayer for the eternal peace of the Shuhada.

Upon arrival at Corps Headquarters, he was received by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Khalid Rabbani.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Minister for SAFRON Abdul Qadir Baloch also accompanied the Prime Minister during his visit to the Corps Headquarters.

In a brief meeting with army officers, the Prime Minister was informed that 232 terrorists have been killed in the ongoing operation in North Waziristan. Twenty hideouts of the terrorists have also been destroyed.

Eight security persons embraced martyrdom and seven were injured while fighting against the terrorists in North Waziristan Agency.
