LAHORE (Dunya News) - Polling record inspection of NA 124 is underway at session court on the second day.

A meeting headed by Punjab Election Commissioner Meboob Anwar is underway at Session Court Lahore.

Three thumbprints of the same voter were reportedly detected from the record of several polling stations during the inspection.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sheikh Rohail Asghar had been declared winner from NA-124 Lahore while losing candidates Bushra Aitzaz of PPP and Waleed Iqbal of PTI had accused Rohail Asgahr of committing rigging during the May 2013 elections.

Both the losing candidates had filed petitions in the election commission seeking verification of record of thumb impressions of the voters.

An election tribunal had ordered the inspection of the ballots.

The RO had summoned the record of all 264 polling stations in the constituency from district treasury.

During the inspection of first bag the tribunal staff recovered several ballots having no stamp of authorised polling officer.

Talking to media persons, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan said rigging has been detected during the inspection of ballot papers and more evidence of rigging would be revealed with the continuation of inspection process.
