Dense fog: four killed, 27 injured in Punjab road accidents

Dense fog prompted the Motorway police to suspend traffic from Lahore to Pindi Bhatian.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Dence fog has virtually paralysed life in parts of Punjab. Poor visibility due to fog resulted in various accidents in Gujranwala region during night between Thursday and Friday, killing at least four people.

At least 27 people also sustained injuries in traffic accidents in different parts of the province.

According to Motorway officials, Motorway from Lahore to Pindi Bhattian has been closed as visibility was down to zero due to dense fog.

The flight operations at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore were also suspended due to dense fog at the airport. All departing flights were delayed and the incoming flights were diverted to other airports.

According to police, four people were killed and 20 others sustained injuries in traffic accidents in Gujranwala.

The Motorway police have appealed the drivers to use GT Road for travel. The Motorway police have urged the drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights. They also requested people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling.
