Kishan Ganga Dam: Pak team reaches UK to consult lawyers
Pakistan officials will have consultations with lawyers over expected WB court decision next month.
LAHORE: The officials will discuss options with the lawyers in case the Arbitration Court of World Bank gives a verdict contrary to Pakistan’s expectations.
The team headed by Advisor to PM for Water Resources Kamal Majeedullah will consult James Crawford, Sampson Woodworth and Wan Loo in this connection.
The sources in the Ministry of Water and Power informed the Dunya News Tuesday that if the World Bank Arbitration Court dismissed the Pak objections against the Kishan Ganga Dam, Pakistan would consider taking the issue to another international court.
Pakistan has challenged the construction of the disputed dam by India on a tributary of River Jehlum raising certain technical objections.
The court has stayed the construction work on the dam, and is expected to give a final verdict in January 2013.
